An apple a day can keep a doctor away...
and maybe even a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon too.
Since most apples ripen during the fall months, there are this month's featured beauty superfood. Over the past few weeks, I've done a lot of research about apples and their skin and hair benefits so I am super excited to share with you what I have learned!
Below are some of the main nutrients in apples that make apples so skin, nail, and hair loving!
I'll make this simple,
Antioxidants = Anti aging!
Vitamin C is known to help with wound healing (let's say you have an acne scar) and it can also help nourish dry skin.
I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard the term "malic acid" I was a little thrown back...I mean doesn't "malic acid" sound harmful?
Surprisingly malic acid can help whiten your teeth, by removing stains!
Side note: I've heard that biting into apples help remove plaque from teeth (not sure if it's true or not but thought I'd share it anyways!)
Vitamin E has SOOOO MANY skin benefits (that is why Vitamin E is used as an ingredient in most skincare products!) Therefore I'm not going to go in depth about all the benefits of vitamin E, but if you would like to read about all perks of Vitamin E oil for your skin, click here.
I don't know a lot about enzymes.
(I'm definitely not a scientist, researcher, enzyme special etc haha!)
What I have learned is that apples are known to contain special enzymes that help with making your complexion lighter and glowier! These enzymes also help with hair growth and hair health. Yep that's about all I know :D
So I suggest loading up on apples this September not only for overall health but for your teeth, skin, and hair health as well. If you like these kinds of posts or anything related, I would love for you to subscribe to our little Jordanaaabeauty family :)
thank you so very much for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
