December was a rough month for my skin.
I looked tired, my skin was dry, and I suffered from a MAJOR breakout (a reaction from a beauty product I was testing....yikes!).
Something needed to change.
So I watched a few youtube videos where girls drank 8 cups of water (64 ounces) to see the effects of water on their skin.
After watching the videos I wanted to try this challenge myself.
So I filled up my cup and began chugging haha!
Here is a picture of my skin before my water drinking journey...
I know it's pretty bad. (thanks to the anti acne face mask I tried, haha how ironic?)
After drinking 24oz I quickly realized that drinking 64 ounces would not be healthy for me. I'm pretty small and petite framed, and I eat a lot of fruits and veggies filled with high water content, so I decided to lower my water goal to about 48 ounces and drink extra if I felt that I needed it.
When I woke up I was shocked.
I mean look at the difference already!
My skin looked less inflamed and some of the mini spots started to fade.
So I kept drinking...and peeing...peeing a lot.
I didn't notice much of a change when I woke up on Day 3. My skin was more vibrant and glowing, but the reaction site wasn't much better :(
You probably don't notice too much of a difference in day 3 or day 4, but my skin was a lot brighter, vibrant, and a less dehydrated than day 1.
Day 5 I was a little bit disappointed. I didn't notice many changes other than more vibrant skin :(
I honestly started to lose hope, but I kept drinking haha!
I woke up and I FREAKED OUT.
I promise you this is not photoshop.
I woke up and my skin looked like it was glowing and smooth and healthy and....oh my goodness I was so excited.
My skin is finally looking back to normal (and I am so thankful). Majority of my blemishes have faded and my skin is looking healthier and smoother. #thankyouwater
I am beyond impressed with the results of this water challenge thing. I believe it takes a few days for you to notice major changes in your skin, but be patient! I don't think that this is the ultimate cure for acne, but I do believe it helps! I need to warn you though, you're gonna be using the restroom a lot haha! But I guess it's worth it for clearer skin :)
