I am fortunate, I naturally have long healthy nails. I religiously paint them every Sunday, no matter what. I normally reserve time on Sunday to sit down and paint my nails, it’s fun to me! But this past week, my Sunday was FULL of things to do that I just didn’t have enough time to paint my nails. Luckily I had recently bought these imPress nails to keep in my nail drawer just incase I ever forgot to paint my nails or they had to look extra special for an event.
First off I would like to say I have never had acrylics done from a salon before, mainly because I apply false nails myself fairly often and I naturally have nice nails.I also have never used impress brand stick-ons before, so I was really excited to try them out! I got these at Target, but I’ve found them at a lot of different stores such as CVS, Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, Rite Aid…
Finding the Fit
My nails are naturally flatter so I normally have a challenging time finding a false nail that doesn’t curve too much compared to my natural nail. Luckily the imPress nails had a shape that fit each one of my nails! The only one I had a problem with was my thumb nail, I actually have a few left over that worked as well!
This part was surprisingly easy. I honestly expected that would be a lot more complex, so I read the directions including in the packaging at least five times... wish I was joking.
I soon learned that all you have to is file your nails, and wipe them with a damp pad that was included in the packaging, then peel the plastic backing off the plastic nail.
They honestly looked professional. A lot of people assumed that I had them done at a salon. The best part was that no sticky glue (or mess!) was required and I didn’t have a drying wait time. It was a lot faster than me painting my nails myself or applying acrylics with glue.
Did they last long?
Yes and no. All of my nails stayed on for a solid 2 days (which is pretty good if you ask me!). Then on the third day one thumb nail and my index finger nail popped off. You can probably tell in the picture how the thumb was peeling back a bit. Luckily I found both of the nails and I just glued them back on with nail glue, they lasted about 3 more days #beautyhack! I would say 50% of my nails stayed on for a whole week!
I will probably not use imPress nails weekly (due to the cost and the maintenance of reapplying the nails), but I will use them more often though! I love how many different styles there are! The only complaint I have is that my hair kept getting stuck under the nails, not quite sure if all acrylic nails do that, It was a little bit painful at times! Despite the trouble with my hair, I recommend them for anyone looking for an easy way out of painting your nails or those not willing to pay the price at the salon. I will definitely be using them in the future!
Thank you all for reading, I hope you have a great day!
