Hello! A few months ago I did. a blog post titled How to Prevent Acne, you all loved it so much, I decided to create a part 2 and here it is! Haha maybe I'll do a part 3?! Let me know in the comments or on my latest instagram post!
use a toner
using a toner after cleansing your skin, removes more of the impurities and makeup residue you might have missed during your cleanse. without toning! Toners also balance the Ph of your skin, keeping your skin moisturized and healthy :) there are a lot of toners on the market, so do your research for your skin type. I don't suggest using a toner that contains harsh alcohols, these tend to dry out your skin, causing more problems in the long run!
avoid putting heavy hair products near your hair line
hair products are designed for your hair, not your skin. Most heavy hair products (gels, pomades, root volumizer) tend to clog your pores and cause breakouts along your hair line. Avoid placing these heavy products close to your hairline and avoid placing hair products on the pieces of hair that fall onto your face.
use facial friendly sunscreen.
Wearing sunscreen is SO important to protect your skin from aging! Please do not use the same sunscreen you use on your body for your face. Sunscreen for your body is typically thicker and more likely to clog your pores! Use a facial friendly sunscreen such as this one!
did you know that stress can cause acne? When your stressed your hormones get off balance, this worsens your acne and creates new breakouts! Find ways to cope with your stress. Personally I recommend setting aside at least 10 minutes every day to meditate :)
use products designed for your skin type
Many people use products that don't fit their skin type. For example somebody with acne prone oily skin, should be using products designed for acne prone oily skin! Using incorrect products can clog pores and create excess oils! Do your research on your skin type and experiment with different brands and products.
